Roman Glass Flask


Ca. 100–200 AD. Roman. A glass flask with a rolled-over rim slightly angled to the neck, which itself is very slightly angled to the pear-shaped body. The base is flat and gently thickened at the centre. The slight white tinge of the glass displays beautiful iridescence in some places. A very similar piece in shape can be found in Glasses of antiquity. Fortuna Fine Arts, Ltd. New York. 2002. Item number 43.
