Ca. 1st-2nd Century AD
A Roman blown glass amphoriskos with an aqua colouring. The amphorikos has a long tapered body with a light vertical ribbed pattern adorning the surface. The upper portion of the piece features opposing applied handles, a funnel mouth, and a rolled rim. Slight encrustation and iridescence adorns the surface.
Provenance: Collection of Rabbi Herbert Friedman, NYC. Collected in the 1960’s in Israel. Thence, to family by descent.
