Ca. 1st-2nd Century AD
A set of two Roman blown glass cups, both with slightly flared, wide rims. The right is a blue-green example with a vibrant colouring and silvery iridescence, characterised by a flat bottom, rounded base, and slightly tapering body. The left and slightly smaller yellow-green example has a flat rim, a rounded, bulbous body and is remarkably transparent.
Provenance: From the estate of Peter H. Tillou, CT., acquired in the 1990’s. Thence, to family by descent.
